Leading Age RI Conference, March 2022

By Kathy Shatraw, Aldersbridge Navigator

I was happy to attend this fabulous conference on March 23, 2022. The Conference event offered three different time frames to choose from three different topic areas for each session.

Some of the topics included:

· Communicating effectively with humor

· Out with the old and in with the new modern marketing approaches

· Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, just to name a few.

The session on Understanding & Managing Complicated Behavioral Health diagnosis offered insight into a variety of psychiatric illnesses. The discussion also incorporated how the COVID Pandemic can lead to an increase in anxiety, depression, and PTSD. It is so important to seek treatment promptly for any of these issues to ensure your own optimal mental health.

The other interesting session I attended was on The Christopher Robinisms of a Team. This seminar offered leaders an opportunity to look at their teams and identify their strengths and weaknesses. It gave insight into how you can make your management group work together as a TEAM.

Based on the characters in the 100 Acre Woods, leadership was able to look at the characters such as, Christopher Robin, Pooh, Owl, Eeyore, etc. and identify their character traits and how they could be put to best use and be productive within their work related Management TEAM.
